We have quite a few things going on in Student Ministries outside of our normal weekly programming!
High School Beach Camp
High School Beach Camp is a camp experience like no other. Every year it’s the most talked about, looked-forward-to week of the summer for our rising 9th through 12th graders and graduates.
We spend a week at the beautiful Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort in Pawleys Island, SC, experiencing what some students have called “the best week of the year.” It’s a week filled with powerful teaching, engaging worship, one-of-a-kind beach competitions, serving our friends at Teach My People, and opportunities to connect with other students to grow deeper in your walk with Jesus. High School Summer Beach Camp breaks the mold of all the usual summer camp experiences.
Spots for this amazing week fill up quickly, so be on the lookout for registration information, and make plans to be a part!
Middle School Camp
Every year our students rave about Middle School Camp, and it’s easy to see why. When you combine amazing worship, Bible study, exciting games, and unique activities, you have a recipe for an amazing week of camp. Middle School Camp at Camp Longridge in Ridgeway, SC provides the perfect environment for rising 6th through 8th graders to get connected to Middle School Ministry.
Camp Longridge is situated around a beautiful lake, but there’s more to the story… From the high ropes course, zip line, climbing wall, water slide, canoes, fishing, gaga ball, sand volleyball, paintball, and more, there’s never a dull moment.
Even more importantly, students have the opportunity to escape the distractions of everyday life and engage in powerful worship, practical teaching from God’s Word, make new friends, grow deeper with old friends, all while creating lifelong memories.
Middle School Camp is going to be better than ever this year. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity – be on the lookout for registration!
There is something about getting out of your routine and into an environment where you separate from the normal distractions of life that allows you to focus on developing quality friendships and hear truth from God. Several times a year we want to create these kind of environments for students. One of those events is our annual Weekend Retreat. We meet together on Friday after school and spend a couple of days playing games, developing friendships, eating great food, worshipping together and hearing great teaching from God’s Word.
This will be one of the highlights of the year for students, so make sure to check the back cover for the dates and get it on your calendar as soon as possible!
We make a big deal of High School graduation at Sugar Hill Church. We have a special Graduate Recognition day where students are celebrated and encouraged by their church family. As a part of this special day, graduates invite their families, close friends, and their “5” to a banquet where they are further celebrated by our whole Sugar Hill Students team and the rising Senior class. At this banquet, graduates share The Plan booklets with their “5” and begin the process of receiving encouragement to thrive as they enter the post-high-school world. This event puts the exclamation point on our preparation of students to be Grounded For Life.
Pay What You Can
We never want finances to keep a student from being able to go to camp. If you need financial assistance for one of our camps, retreats, or major trips, we ask you pay all that you can and at least cover the trip’s deposit amount. Then, parents are asked to complete our confidential “Scholarship Request Form” to specify the amount of financial assistance being requested. A Sugar Hill Students team member will contact the parent to discuss payment plan options, the amount of scholarship requested, and making any arrangements for your student to be a part of the trip.
